Coming to The Town…

Forged from two of Malta’s finest musical purveyors, ‘The Town’ fuses Carl Farrugia, alias Audiofreak, and Sean Sammut aka The Element, creating one of the most powerful musical collaborations to have ever emerged from the island.

As the duo now seek to bring their magical Maltese Aura to London and beyond, anyone fortunate enough to encounter these two individuals will undoubtedly agree they know how to please the ears, to say the very least… The saying ‘Experience counts for everything’, couldn’t be more true when considering Sean and Carl’s musical careers, who between them have been playing-out dance records for almost 30 years.

Not only do these stalwart artists boast extensive experience in gracing the turntables at Malta’s most sought-after parties and venues, they also hold a prominent position at the helm of cultivating the island’s rapidly developing underground dance scene.

Having brought the likes of Tale of Us, Betoko, Edu Imbernon, Uner, Michel Cleis, and most recently Maceo Plex, to play alongside them in a series of forward thinking events (Cosa Nostra) across the island, both Carl and Sean are unique in their extensive experience of organising and executing some of the most successful and forward thinking events ever to grace the sandy Maltese shores.

With the island’s underground dance scene slowly but surely asserting itself as ‘one to watch’ over the coming years, The Town can now turn their attentions to releasing their first E.P., which they hope will be complete sometime during early 2013.
Given their musical influences over the years, and the countless artists with whom they have been fortunate enough to perform, its fair to say that their loyal following of aficionados are eagerly anticipating what sound The Town will be manifesting for their debut E.P., as Sean and Carl grace the studio over the coming months…

So keep your eyes and ears peeled for something very special emanating from the Maltese underground very soon… In the meantime, whet your ears and take a listen to the deep & dulcet sounds of the The Town, with this latest mix recorded live from their recent sell-out party at Mata’s ‘Playground’ on Saturday 4th August.

You can look forward to seeing The Town play at London’s infamous Supperclub in Notting Hill on Friday 17th August and then again on the rooftop for Solid Grooves at Brixton Club House on Saturday 18th August alongside Alex Arnout (Crosstown Rebels) & Death on the Balcony (Culprit / Lower East).
