Tim Green
Prepossessing the ability to effortlessly maneuver through the realms of house and techno, as dawn breaks over 2012 the many facets of Tim Green’s production dexterity is casting reflections in innumerable directions, illuminating a musical and thought-induced excursion on which the 27-year old is embarking.
Experimenting across the spectrum of electronic music, whether putting out reverberating minimal techno of Amnesia peak-time kind-of-measures, or sprinkling some of that unmistakeable TG charm over productions of popular appeal, his work is stamped by ingenuity, fearlessness and fun – which also granted him the ‘Best Breakthrough Producer’ award at DJ Mag’s Best of British in 2010.
After fully bursting onto the scene in 2008 with modern classics “Revox” and “Mr Dry” snapped up by highly-revered Dirtybird and Trapez Records respectively, and picking up support from top players such as Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin and Luciano along the way, Tim swiftly catapulted himself into the upper echelons of the techno hierarchy. A string of high profile releases followed in short succession adding Cocoon, Get Physical, Saved & Four:Twenty to an already impressive back catalogue, as well as remixes for XL Records, Sci+Tec, Moshi Moshi and Souvenir.
With an idiosyncratic groove and off-kilter cheekiness his sound has seen him tour the electronic bastions of the world, including Space – Ibiza, Womb – Tokyo, Fabric – London, Sankeys – Manchester, Watergate – Berlin, D-edge – Sao Paulo, Electric Pickle – Miami, WHP – Manchester, Bestival – Isle Of White, SW4 Festival – London, Zouk – Singapore, Rex Club – Paris. As we are heading into 2012 Tim makes a welcomed return to his underground roots, captivating crowds in more intimate yet discerning settings, along with heading up his own night Bedlam, which is currently on everyone’s lips.
On the production side of things 2012 is already looking like another stella year with a dark and twisted remix of Sacha Robotti featuring Qzen’s Fotograf on Klasse Recordings and, following on from last year’s “In Love EP” on Get Physical, he has teamed up with Robert Dietz & Audiofly for a remix package due for release in April. This summer will see him return once more to Cocoon to release the outstanding “Curious Smile” release, plus an EP for Get Physical and remixes for Supernature & Oh Yeah Records, as well as his much anticipated debut artist album.
If taking into consideration the achievements Tim has reached in the span of merely four years, it is a gathered electronic community that awaits his next move

Yousef’s Circus turns Ten…Circus, the Liverpool based clubnight that has become one of the most revered on the continent, turns ten in stunning style this September. What began back in 2002 in Liverpool has since gone onto become one of the most hotly anticipated and widely loved parties on the planet, existing around the simple mantra – ‘Serious music, Fun Times’.
Wiggle with the creatures of the night…When Terry Francis and Nathan Coles started throwing parties, it was pretty much a reaction to their circumstances. Already committed to London’s fledging acid house scene, and both influenced by rare groove and up-tempo soul, they wanted to do something off their own backs, just for their mates, with DJs they liked and Evil Eddie Richards was one of them, so much so, they made him a resident. Over 16 years later the trio are still in the rudest health, noising up nightclubs with that same simple ethos, while Wiggle – the catch-all term covering record label, clubnight and attitude – has also come to typify a style of music; a deep, druggy basement-shaking music to escape in and get down to.
Select*Elect’s favourite flavour…After a short summer break, Select*Elect return and seem very proud to bring to their London night, one of their favorite producers.
He has been producing, remixing and DJing for the last 19 years and successfully running his own label, Freerange. In recent years he has released his first original track for another label, choosing Ben Watt’s Buzzin’ Fly for “Square Up”, which went on to become a big underground house track of the year. Another deep house anthem which was nominated for numerous Best Dance Single Awards was his 12″ for Freerange, “Sleeper”, which sat at the top of the Beatport charts for a month.

There’s a Circus in The Egg…Whether going solo or doing parties with Planet E, Cocoon or BBC Radio One for the historic 500th Essential Mix, they’ve always got the mixture of established and the soon to be huge perfectly balanced. Sven Vath, Carl Cox, Ritchie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Luciano, Ricardo Vilalobos, Carl Craig and Adam Beyer are among those representing the former, whilst they can lay claim to being among the very first to champion the likes of Seth Troxler, Maya Jane Coles and Resident Advisor’s No 1 DJ Jamie Jones.
Artizan Music call in US deep house sounds of Demarkus Lewis…When asked to detail the bond he shares with deep house, Dallas born and raised Demarkus Lewis remarks: “trying to describe my passion for the deep is almost like trying to describe why sugar tastes so sweet”. Well, if there was ever a slogan to capture the spirit of house fans, then, this is it!

Making the crowd Melt…Words: George Pearse

So they say when something ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And with Melt 5 having taken the night cosmic, ‘more of the same’ was understandably order of the day. After the elation that the guest-slots of Nick Hoeppner and Tama Sumo gifted those present back in May, the 6th of Melt’s bi-monthly parties needed some heavy DJ artillery. Their call to arms was answered once more by a deadly male/female dynamic. First up was Frenchman Zadig, both playing a live set, and making his debut in London clubland. With him in the trenches on a soggy July night was Virginia, the acclaimed Panorama bar virtuoso, in town for her first UK show since rocking Fabric last December.
