Since unleashing their eclectic sounds onto the underground music scene just over a year ago, this aspiring party has been captivating the attention of house music aficionados from across the UK, Europe and beyond…
With a predominantly subversive house sound, surging between deep house grooves and organic tech house, EIVISSA SOUL brings you a new monthly residency consisting of 12 hour parties on Cargo’s sun kissed urban terrace yard. A full days worth of deep and tech house grooves from special guests and residents in the hub of London’s underground party scene that is Shoreditch.
If the last couple of events at Cargo have been anything to go by, this September installment is going to be even bigger and better, with special guest appearances on the terrace alongside Eivissa Soul residents followed by residents going back to back, warming up the main room from 10:30.
DZeta N’ Basile (1Trax, Real Tone, Plastic City)
Claudio and Davide are a pair of prolific producers whose reputation on the scene has been escalating since joining forces 2 years ago, quickly establishing their presence in London’s crowded spotlight.
With a full bag of successful releases already behind them and a number of key gigs in the pipeline this duo has been hotly tipped by the press and the underground scene, with their name quoted as ‘currently on fire’.
With their combined eclectic background that reaches every house music angle, their styles intermingle to create deep and always hypnotic grooves.
Since their first release, signed by Electric Sheep Recordings in late 2008, they have come a long way, working with some of the leading labels and artists of the house music market.
In the past year their name has rocketed to the top of the Beatport charts, with their singles and remixes alongside the likes of Silicon Soul and Nicole Moudaber (on Haiti Groove, Germany), Robert Owens, Alex Jones, Amelie, Shenoda, Cozzy D, Chris Lattner, Huxley and Kruse & Nuernberg (on 1Trax, UK), Kevin Yost (on iRecords), Burnsky (on Real Tone), Flowerz (on Electric Sheep) and many more.
Alongside their studio commitment, lies their passion for DJing, achieved through their background in the club scene, which goes back to the early nineties and has taken them straight to the top spots in the English capital, with notable gigs for Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, The End and Egg amongst many.
Yannis Balkizas (Use Your Loaf)
Yiannis Balkizas, a man of humble roots whose talent for music is derived from his deep rooted love for it. It’s a passion that he embodies when promoting, creating and delivering the music he loves.Born to Greek parents in the East of London, he has always enjoyed a cultured and diverse taste for all things with a beat.Since taking to the dance floors of London in the mid 90’s and experiencing a liberating era of dance music, to the diverse and evolved scenes of today, he has known where his heart lies. Yiannis is about the moment; the one you wish would never end.He believes the music and people are what make a party one to remember.
Yiannis has released over 30 tracks and impressively has tracks signed to labels all over the world including Remud/Presslab Records (Italy), Inminimax Records (Brazil), Eclectic Records (Italy), BDivision (Germany), Mad Hatters Records (UK) and Itch Records (UK) to name just a few. His style definitely bares witness to his Mediterranean heritage, often blending powerful traditional sounds with the craft and rhythms of the genres around him, as seen in tracks like “Stavros Plays The Bouzouki”.
This desire to create and share is not restricted to production with Yiannis; frequently throwing parties including ‘Deeper Love’ and ‘Use Your Loaf’ in the heart of London’s underground scene, Shoreditch to nurture and showcase the styles and talents of his fellow DJs.
“Watching those around me working hard and doing what they do is as inspirational sometimes as watching my idols; people like Claude Von Stroke and Matthias Tanzmann”.
It’s behind the decks though, in front of a crowd that Yiannis calls home. He currently holds residency at nights such as ‘BamBara’ and ‘Follow Me’ and has seen bookings take him across Europe from Oslo, Norway to the warmer climates of Ibiza and Greece. London is bread and butter to this man at present, playing there week-in-week-out and having played at infamous venues such as Pacha, SEOne, Cable, Egg and Ministry of Sound. 2010 has surely been the highlight of Yiannis’’DJ career having featured on line ups for top promotions (Jaded, Cavo Paradiso, Night Owl, Supernova and Rhythmatic) and playing alongside the likes of Matthias Tanzmann, Davide Squillace, Alex Celler, Hermanez, Chris Leibing and Jamie Anderson.
Like other areas of his music, Yiannis’s style behind the decks is not straight down the line. He ranges from a feel good, groovy and tribal techno to a more purposeful journey-based deep tech. Like each party he plays at, each style and set is different and tailored to the crowd he plays for.

Saytek’s latest installment is ready for one almighty launch…Heralding from London town, and working in collaboration with Cubism Records, Saytek is best renowned for his inspirational live performances at the ‘Seal-Pit’; the main arena of Ibiza’s latest musical phenomenon, Zoo Project. His pioneering and distinctive performances immerse the listener into an undulating progression of harmonious grooves, with Detroit soul, dub, acid and tribal percussion, all garnished with intricate chords, jazz and Latin elements, the overall combination of which have lead to Saytek being dubbed as one of the most exciting and innovative live acts around.
Recent sell-out performances at Fabric and Sankeys, have helped to cement Saytek’s reputation as a must-see DJ. Furthermore, it could be suggested that his eclectic sounds have the capacity to inspire a generation of music aficionados, into adopting tribal house as a musical preference on any future clubbing excursion. With his new Remixed Volume 5 album launch due to take-place at East-London’s reputable Cargo club this Saturday 19th March, there are growing opportunities to experience this uprising genre live and exclusively, as the underground music scene enjoys an exciting resurgence at new and ambient venues across the Capital.
Needless to say, flanked by an array of upcoming UK talent in Cubism residents Mark Gwinnett, Paul Johnson and Mike Healey, Saytek’s album launch at Cargo boasts a line-up rivalling any other this Saturday, and is well worth an appearance for anyone eager for a taste of the Zoo.
