Coyu dedicates his latest live mix to the late Aaron Carl, as he plays live at Ibiza Global Radio….

Coyu’s Ibiza Global Radio Set

Coyu’s set is a real blend of deep tech with subtle shades of funkiness and ambience thrown into the mix.
He starts off with a slightly laid back approach which seems to linger just enough from the edge for you to feel the presence of something to come but whilst still absorbing the up-beat skip as he slowly works you closer. He almost teases you with some true house flavours by building things a little and then bringing them back to a steady medium again, to only tease you yet again with a subtle build.

About 14 minutes of this behaviour and he’s switched things onto a different path with a monotonous low drive dub-tech route with atmospherical touches which mildly brighten and set a real mood in the air. It almost makes you want to voluntarily stand on the edge and just feel that wind blowing under your arms when very swiftly enters a distinctive electro arpeggio bass which gently pulls you away leaving your body swinging in no-man’s land.
At which point Coyu plays on the ambience of the mood and gently touches to a Sasha style aura allowing the mix to then just flow into a natural drift. He lightens the mood with a real uplifting track towards the end, which then switches to a real soulful deep dub piece before ending things on a quirky broken beat finale. The ending is maybe a little off-key with the last two tracks but apart from the last 6 minutes this mix is a great piece of work which will send you on a bit of a trip.
