Genetikal Twins provide a taste of what music is for them and their label with the latest G-Sounds mix…Hailing from the Italian city of Ancona, Genetikal Twins have put into action their plan to bring forth cool grooving music from some of the freshest and most creative artists the music scene has seen. In order to execute such a plan they have recently launched their own digital imprint, Indepth MusicRec, which has already released a the inspiration “Need To Go EP” by Highgrade and 8bit producer, Manuel ‘de’ Lorenzi along with Giammaria. An EP that rightly so, gained support from the likes of Matthias Tanzmann, Robert Dietz, Terry Francis, Adam Shelton, Raymundo Rodriguez, Nic Fancuilli, Danny Howells, Neil Quigley and numerous others.
When we asked Genetikal Twins what made them start up Indepth MusicRec, they explained that… “because we love music in all its form, we love make it, experiment with new sounds and release our emotions in music; and then for the same reason we started to produce, also because living far from the biggest music centers like Berlin, London or Rome is difficult to be noted, build relationships and grow as DJs. To manage a label is not easy, but it allows us to find the music we like, that combines with our own music, to create a family that make us grow together and influencing each others music…”
And in terms of the ethos and aim of their family, they told us that… “Indepth Music Rec concrete the vision that we have of the musical world. Indepth will affirm its own idea of house-music, proposing an unique and identifiable style. Promoting and seeking new talented artists will be the mission of our newborn label… like H.Hiene said: “When words leave off, music begins”…”
And now, Indepth MusicRec’s latest release, is one by Genetikal Twins themselves, the “Vorticism EP”, which has been picking up support from Steve Bug, Chris Lattner, Danny Howells, Raymundo Rodriguez Nic Fanciulli, Onno, Florian Kruse and Mark Fanciulli. The main track to this EP, “Blast” is characterised by a tech house groove with percussive elements from the immortal Roland 909 with a deep bass and vocal hooks that drive the track while the hypnotic synth in the break gives its a darker edge. Yet on “Semp”, the soft synths and sophisticated melodies have been custom-made to spin the soul of the dancefloor up in the air.
The “Vorticism EP” also features two fine fluid reworks of “Blast” by the superb German trio Afrilounge. The impeccable groove of both versions is designed for the modern dance-floor. The huge, old style synths in their “Acidhouse Remix” immediately take you back to the 90′s, while the “Deep Dub Remix” runs with an infectious deep groove.
So now what do they have planned for the future?… “The first two EPs have been greatly accepted by the public and famous DJs and for future EPs we hope that we will have the same appreciation. We believe a lot in our family and the well-know producers that we have collaborated with, from Markus Homm to Afrilounge, Zeque and Mobius Strum, who have allowed us to bring the musical level to a very high standard. Stay connected because this summer and autumn will be really hot!…”
It may still be early days for Indepth MusicRec, but taking into consideration that the label already has two releases under their belt that can be summarised as “pukka music” (defenition of pukka: means ‘authentic’ or ‘first-rate’.), alongside the fact that they have secured a release from Manuel ‘de’ Lorenzi and Giammaria, as well as superb remixes by Afrilounge, it’s undeniable that Indepth has got itself off to an impressive start. And by the determination and emphusiasm of label boss’, Genetikal Twins are most likely to take the label to bigger and better heights.
Genetikal Twins have been so kind as to give us a taste of what their music is all about with their mix for the G-Sounds podcast. Their mix gives an insight into what kind of sound they are striving towards with not just their DJing and producing, but also the music being released from Indepth.

Ten of the finest tunes on the scene at the moment…With so much great music out there Guerilla Sounds decided to put together a quick top ten mix of the finest. The GS Select mix is not just about the 10 most popular underground tunes out there, it’s about the most inspiring and dynamic music there is, whilst demonstrating and supporting some of the futures freshest artists. Not an easy task, but we feel that this June mix does exactly what we have set out to do. Especially as we have manage to incorporate not only new artist on the scene, but also new label standing alongside a couple of the pioneer labels of underground house music.
