It’s almost the season to be jolly and seems like Melt HQ like to get festive! Having come of age with a historic b2b performance from DJ Qu and Efdemin, the night is now looking to rise up from the basement that’s served them so well as they will definitely be moving to a new intimate venue for this party and who better to help get on down than Cocoon’s shining star, Dinky!
The Christmas instalment will take place on 08 December, and whilst Melt can’t promise you too many carols, it’ll no doubt be big on beats. Melt was busy representing at Distortion festival in Copenhagen earlier this year, where they caught Dinky working both the crowd and a seriously bang on trend hair cut. “Her rousing tech-house set, in tow with boyfriend Matthew Styles, was comfortably one of the best we have witnessed so she was an absolute shoe-in for the crimbo special”, explains Melt.
Supporting Dinky on the night will be electronic music aficionado, Didier Allyne. This Paris-based player has serious scene credentials, having fine tuned his game with regular slots at the notorious Rex club in Paris over the past 2 decades. He also finds time to run the house label Syncrophone, together with a record store that’s played host to house music doyennes such as Carl Craig!
Also present will be the now infamous Melt residents, the three wise DJs! The duo with more cool than a freezer, Monika Ross and Maura will be back, well rested after their birthday after-party shenanigans, as will Arnaud Le-Texier with his own special brand of French fancy.

Melt Music takes a very important step forwards, not just for the fact of completing its first year as a London event but also for having such a successful first year.
Since Melt’s inception back in 2011, Melt has beenkeeping to its morales, ensuring that the DJs and artists they bring to the decks are of a distinct calibre that represent authentic underground ethos. In doing so, Melt has seemed to have some what of a love affair with Berlin artists, with one headlining practically even time. Such artists have contributed so much to ensuring that Melt and its followers have a true underground night that resonates in the memory as one of the finest night on offer in London. Artists such as Ryan Elliot, Ripperton, Franck Roger, DZeta N Basile, Nick Hoppner, Tama Sumo and who could forget Virginia performing live vocals in her set and the last Melt.
And in the interest of keeping that Teutonic vibe alive, Melt will be flying in Panorama Bar big-wig Efdemin, to head up proceedings on the night. If his Boiler Room mix is any kind of sign of what’s to be inflicted upon Melt’s killer Funktion 1 soundsystem, then their 1st birthday will definitely be one to remember.
Joining Efdemin is one special DJ that Melt say they have been hankering after for a while now, DJ Qu, so needless to say Melt are chuffed to bits to finally secure him. “Those who were lucky enough to catch him rocking Room Three at Fabric in May – where he exclusively revealed he’s already excited to be playing for us – will know that this man means real house music business” explains Melt. Melt’s Birthday will be one of only a handful of dates DJ Qu plays here in the UK this year.
“Quite frankly, we can’t bloody wait for this. Rest assured as ever our focus is firmly on the music but you can expect plenty of birthday themed fun and games on the night”, continues Melt. We must stress that this is an all ticket affair, and with the first release having sold out nearly three months ahead of curtains up, we suggest you do the decent thing and bag yourself a ticket while you can!

So they say when something ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And with Melt 5 having taken the night cosmic, ‘more of the same’ was understandably order of the day. After the elation that the guest-slots of Nick Hoeppner and Tama Sumo gifted those present back in May, the 6th of Melt’s bi-monthly parties needed some heavy DJ artillery. Their call to arms was answered once more by a deadly male/female dynamic. First up was Frenchman Zadig, both playing a live set, and making his debut in London clubland. With him in the trenches on a soggy July night was Virginia, the acclaimed Panorama bar virtuoso, in town for her first UK show since rocking Fabric last December.
Zadig ready to join Ostgut-Ton’s Virginia and Melt residents…Melt Music are delighted to have continued their link with Ostgut-Ton by calling upon the skills of the talented Virginia… Yet they are just as delighted to announce an exclusive debut London performance from Zadig. Always on the lookout for up and coming tech-house talent, Melt’s 6th event will be graced with just that when Zadig sets down for his first gig in London.

Melt continue their Berlin inspired nights…After Tama Sumo and Nick Hoppner sent spirits soaring at the last Melt, it seems that they want to continue showcasing some of Berlin’s finest underground DJ talent and building on their ever growing connection with Ostgut-Ton.

Establishing her deep raw sound on the London scene…Originating from Sydney, Monika has been engulfed in the electronic music scene since 2000. Being at the forefront of underground deep and tech house she began establishing a name for herself playing at intimate clubs involved with Sydney’s intricate scene. It was during this time that Monika got involved in radio and landed a slot hosting and producing ‘Frequency’, FBI Radio’s Friday night electronic show.
Fresh on the scene both behind the decks and on the air her innovative style and approach to broadcasting proved to have an infectious effect on her listeners both on the air and in the clubs.
Melt embraces that Berlin essence…By now it should be no surprise to anyone what Melt has lined up for London. The team at Melt continuously push the night with a distinct pedigree of DJs that are not chosen for necessarily their notoriety, but simple for the sound which they are smashing out. This time round it seems they will follow on from their Berlin theme, from when they had Ryan Elliott rock the place, and have called upon two of Berlin’s finest to share the decks with residents Arnaud Le Texier, Maura and Monika Ross.
