The deep sounds of old are given a revitalised re-rub…Gianni Amoroso has been freely exploring his deep open sounds on the Italian digital imprint Morning Mood, a notion that seems to now be reveling in its results as this seems to be Amoroso’s finest work to date. He seems to have taken a sound that was strongly associated to the clubbing scene at the turn of the millennium and given it a revitalising touch-up that has produced an empowering piece of music by the name of “Don’t Control Me”. It is layered with continuous faded stabs that give it the deep open vibe that Gianni has been working a lot with, plus jittery vocal cuts that help open the space even wider with some well placed reverb. The art of this track is its simplicity. Amoroso has it key sounds in there and he has worked with them in such a way, engineering subtle changes to bring a slight air of progression, but in reality it goes no-where, which is exactly what you want when a DJ has a combination of sounds like this on the go. This one is taking you, and at 4am knows where!
“You Have Stolen My Sole” is where Gianni maybe going back even further in time with his choice of sounds and still with that magic Amoroso touch of revitalisation. The main synth, sounding like it been brought back from the 90′s, gently rides a low humming bass that set the pace of the tracks, whilst again Amoroso fine use of vocal cut sporadically appear from nowhere and then casual drifting past. The tone feels moderate until that synth starts gradually building to a modest level that provides an overwhelming feeling.

Gianni Amoroso delves into the mysterious workings of deep grooves…“My Head Is Going To Flow” is the latest release by Gianni Amoroso on Morning Mood Records, a release that delves into that grooving deepness that Gianni Amoroso has been know to create. The title track resonates with its deep humming bass accompanied with ambient efficient sounds beckoning from the background. The occasional vocal cuts do well to emphasise the mysterious deep journey that this piece is projecting.
“Distant Love”, conveys a slightly brighter side of this general deepness, lethargic stabs being the main culprit of this effect. The deep laid back bass, rumbling ever so slightly, accompanies the stabs in creating the easy flowing deep groove embedded into the track, with again, vocal cuts being perfectly worked into the music to amplify the general feel of the track.
