In the dog-eat-dog underground world of music, only the strongest survive. So as Mulletover enters its ninth year of existence, it seems only fair to say that they are one of the strongest on the London circuit, and with good reason. After nine years of wild parties, undisclosed warehouses and incredible line-ups, the mere mention of Mulletover is synonymous for an unforgettable night out.
This year’s Mulletover Birthday will be no different as they welcome all their family, old friends and new faces to celebrate 9 years with a bang while enjoying the sounds of simply one of the biggest names in underground music. Maceo Plex, who rocketed straight to the top of electronic music, headlining stages and festivals around the planet, will be warmly welcomed to headline Mulletover’s 9th Birthday.
A formidable talent who has, like Maceo Plex, been releasing some fine music on Damien Lazarus‘ very own Crosstown Rebels label. With a classical grounding, Francesca Lombardo is no only a genuine musical talent, but the go-to girl for melodic underground house for discerning dancefloors. With another EP forthcoming on Crosstown Rebels, and on the same agency as Jamie Jones and Art Department, Francesca is becoming a force to be reckoned with.
There is no-one better to guide the night’s proceedings and stamp the signature vibe for the Mulletover true and faithful than its founder and resident, Geddes. Having recently been hard at work in the studio, expect to hear first play exclusives from the man himself.

EASTERN ELECTRICS NYE 2011Eastern Electrics‘ New Year’s Eve event sees some of London’s favourite promoters under one roof to welcome in 2012. The announcement that the Eastern Electrics NYE 2011 party would play host to Mulletover, Bloc and Warm, with Anja Schneider, Laurent Garnier and Tensnake got party people buzzing. Now, with the addition of Mount Kimbie playing live, Horse Meat Disco, Warm Residents and Geddes, things look set for an explosive NYE
Laurent Garnier
Playing a superheroic four-hour set. Garnier‘s sets are a playground where Detroit techno meets deep house, while elements of jazz and disco punctuate, and basslines throb. Laurent Garnier has been making the planet dance for 25 years. And, for all this time, his huge energy has seen him grooving behind record decks, bouncing up and down behind studio equipment and leaping around radio studios. He is a multi-faceted artist whose impact on the music scene is far-reaching. But above all he is a DJ, a true DJ: transformed by music, passionate about the crowd. Bodies move in a trance on the dance floor, minds elsewhere. Yet he is also a discoverer of old and new sounds, and has an amazingly rich musical culture. Laurent Garnier spends most of his spare time sifting through old vinyl in record shops, following the most obscure leads on the Internet and listening to every single piece of music he is sent.
Anja Schneider
A prominent part of the Berlin scene, Mobilee Records founder Anja Schneider will bring an effortlessly minimal vibe to Eastern Electrics. Her groove-driven, melodic and deep-techno DJ style will have you enthralled from the off.
As a label head Anja has focused not only on discovering fresh and innovative talent but also on cultivating and developing the Mobilee roster, pushing artists in challenging directions and developing their careers as DJs, musicians, and members of the mobilee family. Under her watch, Mobilee has grown into one of Berlin’s most-watched staples with a close-knit collection of producers including Sebo K, Pan-Pot, GummiHz, Marcin Czubala, Exercise One, And.id, Miss Jools and Dan Curtin. Mobilee has continued to carve out its own distinct sound in a city where everyone seems to be making music: the label’s mix of pristine minimal, slinky grooves and deep house has pushed dance music forward while at the same time remaining instantly accessible.
As arguably one of the most renowned and respected woman DJs in the world, Anja‘s work ethic combined with her undeniably charming personality has lead to enormous success as a DJ on every corner of the globe, from Japan to the Americas to Europe and her native Germany. Anja has made her mark as a regular at the world’s most renowned clubs such as Fabric, Fuse, Rex, and Goa Madrid and has held residencies at Berlin’s own Weekend and Watergate.

One half of mulletover, and one of London’s most significant house faces, Geddes brings an element of the underground to Eastern Electrics NYE. A firm favourite with the Eastern Electrics crew, he’s sure to smash it.
Taking over the second room, and celebrating their 12th year as a permanent fixture on the London scene, Warm have plucked one of their most eminent ‘floor-breakers’ from their bulging roster for the night: Tensnake. A champion of the underground Hamburg sound, and a rising star in electronic music, he combines disco, house and a pinch of funk, taking sounds we all hold dear and twisting and morphing them around one another, whilst avoiding any hint of cliche. Warm’s mayhem-inducing, disco-twisting Horse Meat Disco ramp up the party credentials. This quartet of DJs take disco to new levels, invoking the ethos of 1970s and 1980s New York clubs. And Warm Residents Ali Tillett, Rob Summerhayes and Ollie Seaman are on hand to help send the Eastern Electrics crowd into a frenzy.
Genre-bending festival boys Bloc join mulletover in co-hosting the main room and joining the Bloc brigade are Mount Kimbie – heroes of the post-dubstep scene famed for ambient live sets and a delicious exploration of electronica. This duo have seen their star quickly rise despite their unconventional and non-conformist approach to making music. Unpredictable, fresh and making up their own rules, Mount Kimbie live are just irresistible.
