Murphy Jax is next in line to release on Turbo Recordings who follows that creative path that Turbo seems to be boasting at the moment…Murphy Jax has created an impressive album of emotion packed music drawing from some very inspirational sounds and styles from the past with a modern edge. He’s one who seems to be carrying on the Chicago and Disco vibe with his softly grooving analogue sound and elements of 80′s electro stands predominant, especially on “We Dance”, which resembles a modern version of something you might hear in Beverly Hills Cop. At statement, that for some would dampen the credibility, but be assured this is definitely one not to be overlooked. Its infectious old school sound married up with the soft vocal adds real emotion to the track. But if you’re not quite into the soft meaningful material, then there are a couple of remixes being released that offer a darker side of “We Dance” with the Freak Seven Remix as well as a quirkier funked up electro Populette Remix.
Murphy Jax also incorporates some fine acid into “It’s Time To Bump”, which demonstrates his ability to add his own modern edge to some much loved, old sounds. Blending the acid nicely into a euphoric atmosphere of strings, which is joined by a welcoming electro broken beat. The Matt Walsh & Zhao Remix to It’s Time To Bump is a remarkable stripped back, deep and dirty remix.
Suburban Path on the other hand differs from the others as it has that sound of being a massive tune with a simple kick and its big open spaced synth that drops into a more powerful version of itself with subtleties of distortion. This tune is simple but effective.
Murphy Jax’s music is due for release on 27th June.
